Macrumors reports that Apple.pro, a Taiwanese website, faces a lawsuit filed by a member of Apple’s supplier chain.

Apple.pro posted photos of what they claimed to be the dock connector and ribbon cable for the iPad 3. Although the photos and the captured parts don’t reveal too much about the long-awaited tablet, it was the first leak of the device that hit the blogosphere.

The lawsuit filed against the site confirms that the photos were indeed of an iPad 3. Apple is known for its strict security, as “Inside Apple” reports, and the whole scandal around the iPhone 4 (Gizmodo).

It is obvious that Apple does want to keep its suppliers’ doors firmly closed to protect its upcoming devices from public view before launch. However, difficulties are always present, so we can expect other photos to emerge as the launch of the iPad 3 gets closer.
