To all Verizon Wireless customers out there, the Big Red will start to roll out an additional $2 charging fee to all clients who will do single bill payments via online and the telephone. According to Verizon, the reason for this is to raise funds in order to support such payment methods.

But there is an exception. If you will choose to pay your bills using an electronic check or via the Verizon’s AutoPay service, the additional fee will be waived. On the other hand, clients who will opt to pay their bills in a bank or in a store will not be charged with the additional fee as well.

Manually mailing a check to Verizon will also render the $2 fee void. Verizon has publicly announced that the official implementation of the convenience fee will start this coming January 15, 2012. Hey, it may sound like bad news to some but that’s how it works sometimes.
